You can also now define, for fixed-amount discount codes, whether the discount is applied to the net price or the gross price.
What is a gross price?
A gross price is the price the customer actually pays for a product or service — it includes VAT.Regardless of the store’s price entry mode, amounts shown in the cart and at checkout are always displayed as gross prices.
Changing the store price entry mode
You can change the store price entry mode in the Store info view. From the bottom toolbar, go to Store > Settings > Store info.
In the Store info view, navigate to the Price input mode section, where you can choose whether prices are entered as:
- net prices (default)
- gross prices (prices with tax)
The selected mode determines how entered prices are interpreted throughout the store.
After switching the price entry mode, be sure to review all prices and update them if necessary.
Please note:
- changing the price entry mode affects all prices in the store, including product prices and shipping method prices
- existing prices are not converted automatically
Changing the price entry mode for an active store
If the store is active and the VAT rate is not 0%, we recommend using the following workflow when changing the price entry mode.- Temporarily pause the store by setting its status to Catalogue (prices are visible, purchasing is disabled) or Disabled (the store is not public).
- You can change the store status in Store > Settings > Store info, in the Store visibility section.
- Change the store price entry mode.
- Update product and shipping method prices manually or by using export/import.
- Set the store back to active in the Store info view.
