Adding Facebook Pixel to your website

The Facebook Pixel has been gaining popularity among all other analytics platforms. The Pixel allows you to monitor website traffic, purchases on your website, conversion rates and much more.

Setting up the Pixel on Facebook

  2. Click on the green button labelled Connect Data Sources on the left sidebar of the page.

  3. Click Web from the pop-up window.

  4. Choose a name for your Pixel, for example, "[name of your website]'s Pixel".

  5. Write your website's link into the URL input box. Make sure you enter the correct link: should you wish to introduce your website with the address, make sure to enter exactly that address, not or Also, make sure you have an SSL certificate for your domain name.

  6. Click Continue.

Connecting the Pixel to Voog

  1. Go to your Events Manager on Facebook.

  2. Choose the Pixel you want to add to your website from the list.

  3. Click Continue Pixel Setup.

  4. Select Install code manually.

  5. Copy the Pixel’s code (do not close the Events Manager yet). The code will look something like this:

  6. <!-- Facebook Pixel Code --> <script>   !function(f,b,e,v,n,t,s)   {if(f.fbq)return;n=f.fbq=function(){n.callMethod?   n.callMethod.apply(n,arguments):n.queue.push(arguments)};   if(!f._fbq)f._fbq=n;n.push=n;n.loaded=!0;n.version='2.0';   n.queue=[];t=b.createElement(e);t.async=!0;   t.src=v;s=b.getElementsByTagName(e)[0];   s.parentNode.insertBefore(t,s)}(window, document,'script',   '');   fbq('init', '{your-pixel-id-goes-here}');   fbq('track', 'PageView'); </script> <noscript>   <img height="1" width="1" style="display:none"   src="{your-pixel-id-goes-here}&ev=PageView&noscript=1"/> </noscript> <!-- End Facebook Pixel Code -->

  7. Open your website on Voog, go to Settings > Site and paste the code into the Header code area.

  8. Click Continue in the Facebook Events Manager until the pop-up closes

Pixel is now on your page and is able to monitor the traffic on your website. You also need to set up the PageView event through the Events Manager. Should you wish that Pixel also tracked movement in the shopping cart, you should add an additional script to your website. To do this, go to Tracking shopping cart events in Voog and copy the corresponding code to the Settings > Site > Header code area of your website in addition to the already added Pixel code.

NB! When you add a third-party widget to your site, which gathers users’ data, the visitors must be notified of that action. See our guide about cookie notifications here.
